Insurance quotes via SMS

KUALA LUMPUR: PanGlobal Insurance Bhd recently launched its Short Messaging Motor Insurance System (SMIS).

The system allows car owners to get a quote for car insurance or renew policies by sending an SMS to a special number at standard rates.

The company said users can also buy insurance via their mobile phones, though the process actually involves sending credit card information and other billing details via SMS (short message service).
