RFID solutions company awarded MSC status
KUALA LUMPUR: End-to-end RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) solutions company Keytone Technologies Sdn Bhd said it has been awarded Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC).
Keytone is now eligible to obtain several incentives offered by the Malaysian Government, the company said in a statement.
"We are pleased to receive this status and will enjoy the many incentives it has to offer. Attaining the status confirms our valuable contribution to the development and growth of the Malaysian economy," said Varun Vig, director of operations at Keytone.
With the benefits of MSC status, Keytone said it would be able to acquire the necessary skilled resources and state-of-the-art equipment required to develop cutting-edge RFID solutions for Malaysia and the surrounding region.
Keytone plans to embark on several R&D initiatives that will help optimise and improve supply chains critical to the Malaysian economy, such as those in the automotive and fresh foods sectors, the company said.
Industries that should already be looking into implementing RFID technology are typically those that manage supply chains, warehouses and logistics.
RFID can help to significantly increase visibility and control of goods in all of these areas through an "always-on" system, Keytone said.
Matching work orders, taking inventory of stock, tracking assets in buildings and tracing items within a supply chain all become simple tasks which no longer require hours of labour and investigation, the company claimed.
"RFID has introduced a plethora of application possibilities. Our goal is to implement novel solutions for Malaysian industry and help it develop a pioneer role in the global marketplace," says Gaurab Banerji, Keytone's Asia Pacific managing director.
