Think you're a Java master? Then prove it!

PETALING JAYA: For the third year running, Siemens Communications, in cooperation with Sun Microsystems, is holding an international competition for the development of new mobile Java applications.

Participants in the Java Masters 2005 face the challenge of designing innovative applications for Siemens S65, M65 and CX70 mobile phones.

Students and companies are invited to submit their proposals, Siemens Communications (www.siemens.com/communications) said in a statement.

The aim of Java Masters 2005 is to motivate developers around the world to dedicate themselves to programming new mobile applications on the Java 2 Mobile Edition (J2ME) platform.

Siemens Communications and Sun Microsystems will supply participants with the development tools they need.

To register for the competition, which started on Jan 15, go to www.javamasters.org. The closing date for entries is May 15.
