SCAN launches into Jakarta market
KUALA LUMPUR: MESDAQ-bound SCAN Associates Bhd, one of Malaysia’s leading ICT security solutions providers, has further expanded its presence in Indonesia.
It has been appointed by PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) to provide managed security services (MSS).
Aminuddin Baki Esa, group chief executive officer of SCAN, said the company is proud to be associated with one of Indonesia’s largest banks.
“Their recognition of our ability to provide ICT security solutions bodes well for SCAN and supports our commitment to expand beyond Malaysia,” he said.
In the agreement, PT SCAN Nusantara, a 99% owned subsidiary of SCAN, will supply Danamon with the Group’s MSS equipment and software; provide security monitoring services, advisory support services, vulnerability assessment, and incident response services from its security operations centre in Jakarta.
SCAN will also be providing technical training in order to facilitate smooth knowledge transfer to Danamon’s employees.
“We will continue to work towards identifying and establishing strategic partnerships and alliances overseas as this is part of our mission to provide trusted ICT security solutions and services to the growing regional and global markets. It is SCAN’s aim to be one of the world-leading managed security providers,” said Aminuddin.
SCAN was represented by Hazmi Hussain, president director of PT SCAN Nusantara at the signing ceremony in Jakarta, while Danamon was represented by Mark Sargent, IT security and compliance head and Theresia Tristini, IT treasury capital market and quality management head.
The bank, which is majority owned by Singapore-based Temasek Holdings, is Indonesia’s second largest private bank, and currently boasts the widest geographic network coverage of all Indonesian banks with more than 500 branch offices and ATMs in 790 locations throughout Indonesia.
