HTC unveils its first WM 6.5 phone


KUALA LUMPUR: HTC has unveiled Touch2, a compact and stylish Windows phone that runs on the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.

Measuring 104 x 55 x 12.9mm in size, Touch2 uses the company’s proprietary TouchFLO user interface which offers weather updates and quick access to a variety of applications.

The phone has 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM for storing data, and a built-in microSD card slot for adding even more memory.

Touch2 features a 2.8in touchscreen with QVGA resolution, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, Bluetooth with support for A2DP profile and WiFi connectivity.

The updated WM 6.5 has a new homescreen and synchronises with Microsoft Exchange to allow users to check and manage multiple e-mail accounts.

Users can also access Microsoft’s new My Phone service for backing up data online and buy applications from the Windows Marketplace.

Plus, with the revamped Internet Explorer Mobile and Opera Mobile, the phone is also able to more accurately displays webpages, allowing users to experience content the way it’s meant to be viewed.

The phone has a rated six hours of talk time and up to 20 days of standy time.

The Touch2 Windows phone retails for RM1,599.
