Oracle forms portal for midsize businesses
KUALA LUMPUR: Oracle Corp has launched a new portal for midsize companies under its Oracle Accelerate programme that helps such companies expedite their businesses by using Oracle applications that are designed, packaged and priced for them.
The portal at https://midsize.oracle.com/ helps midsize companies search for geographic- and industry-specific solutions, as well as provides a platform for collaboration, according to Oracle. “By using this portal, users can know about a specific solution by industry or by functionality,” said Jasbir Singh, senior director of applications sales for Oracle’s Asia Pacific division.
Solutions by industry or by functionality differs from country to country. For Malaysia, there are four industries to choose from, namely chemical, life sciences, consumer goods and high technology.
As for functionality, there are three solutions available for Malaysia in the enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and supply chain management (SCM) segments.
If users choose, for example, the functionality option, i.e. SCM, they can pick any one of the three products — Oracle Agile product lifecycle management, Oracle Demantra for advanced demand planning and Oracle transportation management — to implement in their companies.
For all three products, Oracle will provide its business accelerators tool sets. These are rapid implementation tools, templates, industry- and geography-specific leading practice process workflows, explained Oracle.
All these are provided by Oracle to its partners to help reduce implementation time, complexity, cost and risk.
“Businesses can learn more about these on the portal and if they are interested they can call us,” said Jasbir.
“Oracle Accelerate delivers enterprise-class software to midsize companies with a focus on rapid time-to-value.
“The keys to this approach are business accelerators which allow solution providers to capture industry-leading practices gained through years of experience,” Jasbir said.
Since the launch of the Oracle Accelerate programme nearly three years ago, Oracle has helped more than 25,000 midsize businesses worldwide. It defines midsize companies as those with revenues of up to US$500mil (RM1.8bil).
