Getting the best of both worlds
Satio PETALING JAYA: After thrilling users with its Walkman and Cybershot phones, Sony Ericsson has combined them into a single product line.
The phone maker has kicked off its Entertainment Unlimited series with three phones — the Satio, Aino and Yari. The phones offer every aspect of entertainment from music and movies to photos and games.
The highlight of the Entertainment Unlimited line is the Satio, which Sony Ericsson claims will “put the future of mobile entertainment in the palm of your hand.”
Aino The touchscreen phone was designed to have the look and feel of a digital camera which probably makes it a better phone-camera hybrid. Users can also immediately post the pictures taken with the 12.1-megapixel camera on their social networking page without having using a PC.
If that’s not enough, Satio also allows users to access online games from the PlayNow portal. It also features DRM-free music tracks which can be used as your personal ringtone.
Meanwhile, the Aino combines a conventional keypad with an intuitive touchscreen interface when in media mode.
It has an 8.1-megapixel camera and a software called Media Go that converts multimedia content to be compatible with the Aino.
Also, the scrolling media browser gives users a clear overview and direct access to their files.
Yari Plus, the Aino is bundled with a dock that enables users to transfer content stored on a PC to the phone using WiFi.
Another cool feature of the Aino is that it can seamlessly access and control content like movies and music stored on a PlayStation3 using a feature called Remote Play.
The last device in the product line is the Yari which is touted as a music sharing device that enables your playlist to be accessed while you’re having a conversation. Talk about setting the mood.
The phone sports a 5-megapixel camera and is preloaded with motion- and gesture-based games.
The Satio (RM2,499), Aino (RM1,99) and Yari (RM1,099) should be available by the time you read this. — JO TIMBUONG
