BenQ goes 3D
MP772ST PETALING JAYA: Forget watching presentations and videos in 2D. BenQ’s has launched the MP776ST and MP772ST short-throw projectors which are capable of displaying images and videos in 3D.
Also, the projectors are ideal for schools as they can provide more accurate 3D visuals for subjects such as anatomy, geometry and biology, according to the company.
Of course, users are required to wear a stereoscopic glasses to enjoy the 3D effect.
Also, unlike a traditional 3D projector system that requires two perfectly aligned projectors to transmit two separate video feeds, you only need one BenQ unit as it uses Front Project 3D DLP Link technology. MP776ST and MP772ST also have a native XGA resolution and a contrast ration of 2,400:1.
They use advanced picture processing technologies such as BrilliantColor, VIDI and an updated colour wheel so that the images and text can be clearly viewed even from a distance.
The short-throw projectors have a unique aspherical lens that allows them to be ceiling-mounted as close as 1m from the whiteboard. This also helps prevent any disruptive shadows from being cast on the board.
Also, the projectors feature colour correction technology so when a whiteboard or white wall is not available, images can still be projected on a wall with any colour.
The projectors also include Crestron RoomView control system which allows one person to control a single projector or a group of projectors simultaneously via a single station.
The higher-end MP776ST has a brightness level of 3,500 ANSI lumens as well as HDMI and VGA connectivity. The MP772ST has a brightness level of 2,500 ANSI lumens and a VGA port.
The MP776ST costs RM5,999 and the MP772ST is priced at RM4,599. — ZAM KARIM
