PETALING JAYA: With the arrival of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 7, the software giant is now offering hardware to match.

“The new releases are designed to fit perfectly with Windows 7,” said Ian Tan, its marketing and communications manager for the entertainment and devices division.

The Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard comes with Taskbar Favourite buttons that allows users to navigate through multiple windows with the latest OS.

The ultra-thin Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 is Microsoft’s lightest and sleekest keyboard to date and both models were designed to be ergonomic.

Microsoft also unveiled the LifeCam Cinema webcam. This model offers widescreen video with a 720p sensor, autofocus as close as 10cm and enhanced video quality with Microsoft’s ClearFrame technology. The LifeCam is also designed to automatically adjust to low lighting conditions.

The new line of BlueTrack mice known as the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 has also been rolled out. BlueTrack is a type of technology that is one step above optical and laser mice, designed to work on more uneven surfaces than its predecessors.

Its blue LED combined with a built-in wide-angle lens scans surfaces to optimise tracking. The Mouse 4000 is available in various colours.

“All of the above are plug and play,” said Tan. “However, there is so much more you can do with the software we provided with them, especially with Windows 7. You can customise your mouse and keyboard keys and so forth.”

The Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 and Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000 are priced at RM279 and RM329 respectively.

The Lifecam Cinema will retail for RM285 and the Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 costs RM129. — STEFAN NAIDU
