A speedier Windows Phone
PETALING JAYA: The latest Acer neoTouch Windows phone utilises the new Qualcomm 1GHz SnapDragon processor for speeding up functions and applications.
The sleek black Windows Phone has a large 3.8in WVGA touchscreen and includes the Acer UI 3.0 user interface which the company claims is user friendly and more customisable.
neoTouch is the first to feature the company’s finger-friendly virtual keyboard which allows users to type fast using just a finger, claims Acer. A stylus is also included.
Powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the device includes productivity apps like and e-mail client, an Internet browser, multimedia utilities and Microsoft Mobile Office.
If you are crazy about social networking then you will be happy to know that the Windows Phone makes it easy to update your Blogger, Flickr, YouTube and Facebook accounts.
Users can also download the free Acer Sync application from the company’s website which will make data synchronisation even easier.
Once installed, users can synchronises contacts, calendar, photos and video clips with a PC or online services like Gmail’s contacts and calendar as well as Picasa’s web album. Interestingly, Acer Sync also works via WiFi and Bluetooth connections.
neoTouch also includes a proximity sensor, a aGPS, an accelerometer and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash.
The battery is rated to last up to five hours of talktime and up to 400 hours of standby time on a single charge.
