Service to track employees
EMPLOYERS can now track their employee whereabouts with the help of a locally developed portable Global Positioning System (GPS) tracker service.
The device, called Never Alone, was developed by integrated security systems company Xtend Services Sdn Bhd, which is a member of the Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera group of companies.
Francis Seaw, executive director of Xtend Sdn Bhd said that as mobility increases, so does the need for companies to keep track of its workforce.
“Where your employees are and how they spend their time play a huge role in a company’s productivity and efficiency levels. So it’s critical for companies with a mobile workforce to have the means of tracking its workforce in real time,” he said.
Seaw said that Never Alone, which fits into the palm of your hand, allows companies access to data needed to make necessary changes for peak efficiency and productivity – all at the cost of RM75 per month.
“Generally, mobile workers tend to spend 70% of their working hours in transit or travelling. Only 30% of their time is used in meetings or actual productive work. Never Alone encourages improved employee productivity and limits time wastage,” he said.
The tracking service comes with a web-based user login page that enables companies to easily keep up-to-date on their mobile workforce’s whereabouts.
Never Alone can also be used by the man on the street to keep track of loved ones such as young children and elderly family members.
“Never Alone can be hand-carried or placed in a school bag. It is also extremely easy to use and safe,” he said.
The device can also function as a handphone.
Never Alone comprises a one-time refundable deposit of RM590 for individual purchases, plus a RM75 monthly subscription fee per unit for the service. It can be obtained at all Xtend branch offices nationwide.
