Ricoh unleashes new colour laser printers
KUALA LUMPUR: Colour printouts are more effective than monochrome sheets when it comes to communicating, said Ricoh Malaysia which has introduced two new colour laser multifunction printers into the local market.
Alice Lee, head of sales at Ricoh, said colour images and messages have a stronger impact on viewers and leave a more lasting impression. “This is especially effective with marketing material,” she said.
This is the reason Ricoh is pitching its new printers — the Aficio MP C2550 and MP C2030 — to cost conscious small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).
The C2030 is a basic unit while the higher-end C2550 is for users who want advanced networking, information sharing, security, and document production capabilities.
Apart from printing, both machines allow users to copy, scan and fax documents. They can also handling numerous types of paper — from postcards to A3-size posters.
Both printers feature a short warm-up time of less than 25 seconds thanks to their lower toner-melting temperature, said Ricoh.
At the high end
C2550 is powered by a 533MHz processor with 768MB of built-in memory and offers a print resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200dpi (dots per inch).
It has a rated print speed of up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) for both colour and monochrome.
Users can insert a USB flash drive and Secure Digital card into built-in slots on the machine to print directly or to save scanned documents.
This model’s other features include an 8.5in colour LCD control panel, 60GB internal hard disk, and a built-in data-encryption feature for secure print jobs, photocopies and faxes.
Ricoh’s C2030, meanwhile, has a print resolution of up to 600 x 600dpi and the standard network interfaces. It is powered by a 400MHz processor with 512MB of built-in memory.
Prices for both printers range from RM12,000 to RM25,000, depending on the specifications. For more product information, go to www.ricoh.com.my.
