Get help carting it to the Net

KUALA LUMPUR: Small- and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) wanting to get into e-commerce can benefit from First Online Sdn Bhd’s MyBizCart eCommerce software, according to the company.

The product, it claimed, provides an affordable platform for SMEs to go online and push their products or services to cybershoppers.

First Online chief executive Stanley Tiew said the software is tailored to suit the requirements of local SMEs.

“Prior to MyBizCart’s release, businesses had to rely on imported software which had limited language and currency support. And these were also costly,” he said during The MSC Malaysia Great ICT Sale here.

MyBizCart allows businesses to describe their wares in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Chinese, and has a built-in credit-card payment gateway.

But, Tiew said, the highlight of MyBizCart is its user friendliness. “If a customer knows how to browse the Internet, he or she can upload product offerings onto a website in minutes,” he added.

Its users are also automatically upgraded to the latest version of MyBizCart whenever a new version becomes available.

Users get 2GB of space with the product, which enables them to store up to 3,000 product pictures, Tiew said.

He said MyBizCart is being used by about 1,000 businesses in Singapore and the company intends to also market its product in Thailand, Vietnam and the Middle East.

“We’re looking for business partners in Vietnam and Thailand, and tweaking our product to support Arabic and Thai. In Vietnam, we will start with the English version before coming out with a Vietnamese version,” he said.

MyBizCart costs between RM998 and RM3,498, depending on the specifications. In the higher priced package, users are free to customise their websites while with the lower priced package, users can only pick from several design templates.

First Online is offering a RM500 discount on the higher priced package during the sale period.

The Great ICT Sale is organised by the Multimedia Development Corporation to help drive the growth of local SMEs and software markets.
