Get snapping with the N86

KUALA LUMPUR: PEOPLE usually don’t carry a digital camera around everybody would not forget to bring their handphone along with them wherever they go.
And having one that can shoot quality pictures at up to 8-megapixels like the newly-launched Nokia N86 will ensure that those impromptu photo opportunities are never again missed.
What really sets this model apart from the rest is that it is built for mobile photography; incorporating a wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar lens with 20x digital zoom; third-generation dual Xenon LED flash as well as large and multiple aperture settings, Nokia said.
The N86 also offers a fast mechanical shutter and an automatic motion blur reduction so users can be assured of shorter latency times and less motion blur when capturing photos.
Plus, various modes for flash, white balance, scenes and light are also available to help them take better quality pictures.
The phone also comes with a photo-editing software so you can tweak images immediately. And to keep track of where the pictures were taken, the N86 is equipped with a geo-tagging function.
The N86 can also shoot videos in MPEG4 format (640 x 480-pixels) at up to 30 frames per second.
With a few clicks of a button, users can also instantly share their memorable moments with others by uploading images or videos on websites like Ovi Share and Flickr.
The HSDPA-based phone has a 2.6in (16 million colours) AMOLED QVGA screen, which is protected by hardened glass so that it won’t get scratched easily, Nokia said.
The phone has 8GB of built-in memory and if that is not enough users can add up to 16GB more via the phone’s microSD slot.
The N86 (RM1,880), which runs the S60 Symbian 3rd Edition operating system, also has many of today’s must-have functions, including GPS, WiFi, TV-out, digital compass, FM transmitter, Bluetooth, enhanced web browser as well as support for a wide array of audio and music files.
