Sharper webcams from Logitech
LOGITECH has introduced two high-resolution webcams, the C600 and C500.
C600 The C600 has a glass lens and a 2-megapixel sensor, and is able to enhance videos to 720p and images to 8-megapixel resolutions through software.
The webcam employs face-tracking technology and is able to pan and tilt the lens to follow a subject’s face as the person moves.
The C500 has a glass lens and a 1.3-megapixel sensor, and uses software to enhance images to 5-megapixel.
Thanks to the built-in RightLight 2 technology, the webcams will also intelligently adjust the brightness and colour for the best possible image.
The webcam’s Video Effects feature lets you personalise the conversations with hundreds of avatars, face accessories and masks that mirror expressions and motions of the user.
Also, both webcams have a universal clip for attaching them securely to any LCD monitor and notebook, claimed the company.
The devices also support the company’s intuitive, simple and fast online video call service called the Vid.
Vid utilises a user’s e-mail address to connect — there are no screen names and no third-party software to download, said Logitech.
The webcams will also work with popular instant messaging applications such as Skype, Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger.
The C600 and C500 retail for RM219 and RM169 respectively.
