Omnia II ups the ante

KUALA LUMPUR: HOT on the heels of its predecessor, Omnia II is bigger, bolder and offers more advanced features to captivate old and new users.

The smartphone has a really large 3.7in AMOLED (active matrix LED) screen with a WVGA resolution (400 x 800-pixels)

Just like its predecessor, the Omnia II utilises the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface with snazzy 3D effects.

Plus, this model uses R Touch technology which is supposed to make using the touchscreen a more pleasant experience.

The smartphone has a 5-megapixel camera, features dual LED flash, face and smile detection function, and geotagging.

It allows DVD-quality video recording at up to 480p resolution. As it has built-in video editing features, you can trim the video, dub audio and add subtitle on the go.

The smartphone is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional edition and features A-GPS with 3D maps, Bluetooth with A2DP profile, WiFi, FM radio tuner with RDS, and supports DivX and XviD media files.

The Omnia II has a rated talktime of up to 10 hours and a standby time of up to 18 days.

The smartphone is available in two capacities — 8GB and 16GB internal memory — and users can expand the storage through the built-in microSD slot. The slot supports up to 32GB memory cards.

The Omnia II 8GB version retails for RM2,399.
