New HD webcam aimed at business community

KUALA LUMPUR: Tandberg has a webcam specially designed for mobile and PC video-communications in a business environment.

Its PrecisionHD camera, which plugs into the USB port of PCs, is optimised for use with its Movi software and Microsoft Office Communicator Release 2 (OCS R2).

The webcam is the first in the world to offer 720p high-definition (HD) imagery and is capable of 30 frames-per-second video communications.

“When used with Movi or OCS R2, it enables users to see each other in the best possible quality whether calling into a videoconference or telepresence meeting,” said Fredrik Halvorsen, Tandberg CEO.

“This superior performance is crucial for video solutions to be embraced by the business community.”

There are no additional drivers or software installations needed to operate the camera. Users simply plug it into a USB port and can utilise their PC video software for instant access to other video participants.

Moreover, when communicating with non-HD system users, the PrecisionHD camera supports a wide range of standard-definition resolutions, which Tandberg said ensures the best possible experience for all participants.

Tandberg is a global provider of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile-video products and services, with dual headquarters in New York and Norway.
